As you have read on our Home page the name Crianlarich is derived from the Gaelic for ‘low pass’ ,
or, if you prefer there is another derivation, it is the ‘site of the Aspen’, a tree related to the Maple.

For the History enthusiasts among you it is worth remembering that this area was not always so peaceful! Neighbouring landowners squabbled,
warriors clashed swords and bandits rustled cattle. History and legend abounds and this is not easily told in a few paragraphs
